The bite in the Everglades is beginning to turn on with water levels becoming stable again. The best action has been between mile marker 35 and mile marker 41 off alligator alley. Gambler aces and Zoom flukes have been the bait of choice, fishing them weightless on the outside edges of the lily pads. There is still a chance at a big spawning female so always keep your keep your eyes peeled for bass on beds.
Lake Okeechobee is producing some nice fish on the south end, from Pelican Bay to Buzzards Roost. A Gambler big EZ on a 3/8 oz swim jig has been getting lots of bites in the peppergrass. Fish the outside edges and try to locate the large areas of isolated peppergrass. Lake Kissimmee has been excellent fishing. Lots of big fish are biting over 6lbs. Pre-spawn, spawn, and post spawn fish are all present creating lots of action. Flipping a black and blue weighted Gambler Ace at isolated lily pad patches has been key for me. Run that pattern on the east shore of the lake on up to Grape Hammock and you should have a great day on the water. Catch em up! Capt. Ray Peterson
